Product Overview
1. Standard Bare Die VCSEL for Cs OPM Magnetometers
This 894.6 nm single-mode GaAs VCSEL bare die is designed for cesium D1-line optical pumping in optically pumped magnetometers, Cs vapor-cell magnetic sensing systems, and compact quantum sensing optical source applications.
The product is supplied in bare die format as the standard configuration. It is suitable for Cs OPM magnetometer development, cesium vapor-cell sensing modules, laboratory magnetic sensing systems, and compact optical pumping source integration.
Under the specified test conditions of Ta = 60°C, IF = 2 mA, and DC = 100%, the device provides 1.0 mW typical optical output power, offering useful optical power margin for vapor-cell coupling, optical-path design, beam shaping, and system-level magnetic-field signal optimization.
2. Key Features
This 894.6 nm single-mode VCSEL bare die is supplied as a standard optical source for cesium D1-line OPM magnetometer and vapor-cell magnetic sensing applications.
Key parameters include a 894.6 nm typical peak wavelength, 1.0 mW typical optical output power at IF = 2 mA, 30 dB minimum single-mode suppression ratio, 20 dB minimum polarization extinction ratio, 50 MHz maximum spectral linewidth, and 13° typical beam divergence at 1/e².
The device also provides a 0.3 mA typical threshold current, 2.2 V typical forward voltage, 0.6 W/A typical slope efficiency, 0.06 nm/K typical wavelength shift versus temperature, and 0.17 nm/mA typical wavelength shift versus current.
For Cs OPM magnetometer projects, optional non-magnetic TO packaging can be evaluated where low-magnetic material selection and package-level integration are required. Integrated TEC, NTC thermistor or PT1000 temperature sensing, vacuum-sealed packaging, and dry-nitrogen-filled packaging may also be discussed according to project requirements.
Collimation, beam shaping, divergence control, and customer-specific optical spot requirements can be reviewed according to the customer’s optical layout and system-integration requirements.
3. Application Development Direction
This device supports cesium-based OPM magnetometers, Cs vapor-cell magnetic sensing, cesium D1-line optical pumping, quantum sensing optical source evaluation, and compact vapor-cell magnetometer module development.
In an OPM system, the VCSEL wavelength should be matched to the cesium D1-line transition and evaluated together with circular-polarization optics, vapor-cell temperature control, magnetic shielding, detector response, low-magnetic package requirements, and final magnetic-field signal behavior.
The 1.0 mW typical output power provides design margin for vapor-cell coupling, optical-path loss, collimation, beam shaping, detector response, and system-level magnetic-field signal optimization.
Final wavelength matching, tuning range, spectral linewidth, polarization, output power, beam profile, temperature-control configuration, package structure, and magnetic compatibility should be validated under the customer’s actual optical, thermal, electrical, and magnetic sensing conditions.
4. Evaluation Kit and Documentation Support
Five-piece evaluation kits can be arranged for selected standard bare die products, subject to product availability, inventory status, and project review.
For OPM magnetometer evaluation, optional non-magnetic TO packaging can be discussed where low-magnetic material selection and package-level integration are required. Integrated TEC, NTC thermistor or PT1000 sensing, vacuum-sealed packaging, dry-nitrogen-filled packaging, beam collimation, and customized optical spot requirements may also be reviewed according to the project configuration.
Available technical support may include product datasheets, die dimensional drawings, bare die sample information, package configuration review, temperature-control review, and material compliance documentation including RoHS, REACH, and halogen-free documentation.
