1ONELASER Announces FDA CDRH Initial Product Report Filing for VCSEL Laser Diode Chip Series

1ONELASER announces FDA CDRH Initial Product Report filing for its Laser Diode Series, including VCSEL Laser Diode Chip Series, supporting OEM project evaluation.

FDA CDRH laser product reporting requirements for VCSEL and laser diode OEMs

1ONELASER Announces FDA CDRH Initial Product Report Filing for VCSEL Laser Diode Chip Series

1ONELASER is pleased to announce that BestLaser Opto Component Device Limited has filed an Initial Product Report with the U.S. FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) for the Laser Diode Series, including the VCSEL Laser Diode Chip Series.
This documentation milestone supports our ongoing work with OEM customers developing VCSEL-based optical systems for medical beauty, personal care, sensing, machine vision, photobiomodulation-related products, and custom laser module applications.
For customers evaluating VCSEL chips, bare die, SMD laser diodes, or custom optical components, related documentation is available for project evaluation upon request.

Why This Matters for OEM Customers

VCSEL and laser diode components are increasingly used in compact optical systems, including red-light beauty devices, hair-growth devices, laser hair removal systems, facial care platforms, sensor light sources, machine vision modules, and near-infrared optical designs.
For OEM teams, component selection is no longer based only on wavelength, optical output, package size, or beam characteristics. Documentation readiness, traceability, laser safety awareness, and regulatory communication are also important parts of product development.
The FDA CDRH Initial Product Report filing provides an additional documentation foundation for OEM customers who need to evaluate laser component integration in a more structured way.
This does not replace finished-device compliance work. However, it can help engineering, quality, and regulatory teams better understand the documentation background of the VCSEL laser diode chip series during early-stage evaluation.

Documentation Available for Project Evaluation

For qualified OEM projects, 1ONELASER can provide documentation support related to VCSEL laser diode chip evaluation, including:
Product family documentation for the Laser Diode Series and VCSEL Laser Diode Chip Series.
Technical information related to wavelength, optical output, operating mode, beam characteristics, die configuration, and assembly recommendations.
FDA CDRH Initial Product Report-related documentation for project evaluation.
CE-related documentation, including EMC documentation and EN 60825 laser safety / LVD test documentation.
Material compliance documentation, including RoHS, REACH, and HF documentation.
This documentation support is intended to help customers evaluate component suitability, optical integration, and development-stage project requirements.

Important Clarification: Filing Is Not FDA Approval

It is important to communicate this clearly.
The FDA CDRH Initial Product Report filing does not mean that the VCSEL chip series is FDA approved, FDA certified, or FDA cleared.
Instead, it means that the relevant product report documentation has been filed within the FDA CDRH laser product reporting framework. This provides documentation traceability and supports responsible communication with OEM customers.
Finished-device manufacturers remain responsible for their own system-level compliance, including product classification, labeling, safety testing, risk analysis, regulatory submissions, and market-specific requirements.
1ONELASER does not use this filing as a substitute for finished-device approval or customer-side compliance obligations.

Supporting VCSEL-Based OEM Development

1ONELASER continues to support OEM customers with VCSEL chips, VCSEL bare die, SMD laser diodes, array designs, and custom laser packaging solutions across red and near-infrared wavelengths.
Our current VCSEL product directions include:
Red-light VCSEL chips for beauty devices, hair-growth products, photobiomodulation-related evaluation, and compact optical systems.
Near-infrared VCSEL chips for sensing, machine vision, robot vacuum optical modules, NIR illumination, and custom optical integration.
High-power 808nm VCSEL chips for laser hair removal device development, medical beauty equipment, thermal validation, and package-level optical design.
Custom VCSEL development support for wavelength, power, emitter configuration, chip layout, and packaging requirements.
By combining engineering capability with documentation readiness, 1ONELASER aims to help OEM customers reduce uncertainty during early-stage optical system development.
